Agriculture and Food Security

Evaluated CIDA programming in the Agriculture Sector in Ethiopia over the previous five years (2009), and later an innovative five year value chain development project in the Country’s rice and textile sectors (2014)

Facilitated joint Malawi-Canadian team in design of a project monitoring system for a three year agro-ecology and food security project (2012)

Assisted Bhutan’s Ministry of Agriculture to develop results focused program results and progress indicators for the Government’s 10th Five Year Plan (2009),

Evaluated an integrated water resource management project in five African countries (2008), and

Trained the staff team of a soon-to-be-started sustainable land management project in Jordan in Results Based Management and Participatory Monitoring and Evaluation (2008)

Strengthening Organizations and Institutions

Developed a project management framework with landscape scanning, design, evaluation, and reporting tools for the Swedish based inter-governmental organization, International IDEA (2013-14)

Developed results based performance measurement system to track operations and donor funded projects for the Lake Victoria Basin Commission of the East African Parliament (2012-13)

Facilitated the Canadian micro-lending organization, Immigrant Access Fund, through a strategic repositioning to respond to a changing programming landscape (2013)

Consulted with urban and rural civil society groups across the Province of Alberta (Canada) on the status of government-voluntary sector relations (2009-10)

Trained planning and sector officers across most Ministries and Agencies of the Royal Government of Bhutan in the use of RBM to prepare the 10th Five Year Development Plan, advised on the set up of the national monitoring and evaluation system, and the integration of results and expenditure reporting (2006-2009)

Facilitated a cross-Canada staff team in the design of the monitoring and reporting system for the Multiculturalism Program of the Department of Canadian Heritage, and trained program officers across the country in results based management  (2006-08)

Health Systems Strengthening and Population Health

Currently conducting a thematic review of MNCH programming in Tanzania (2015)

Evaluated the INGO, The Micronutrient Initiative’s CIDA funded program to introduce vitamins and minerals among vulnerable populations around the world (2012)

Evaluated the health sector portfolio under CIDA’s regional program for Latin America, including support to the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) (2010)

Evaluated CIDA’s health sector programs in Ethiopia (2009), a community based ophthalmic care program in Kenya, three separate Canadian-African university partnerships offering training to health practitioners in Uganda and Rwanda (2006-08)

Peace and Security

Evaluated the $72 million, second phase of a Canadian Landmine Fund implemented by the Departments of National Defence and Foreign Affairs and CIDA as part of Canada’s commitment to the implementation of the Ottawa Accord (Mine Ban Treaty) (2008-2009)

Small & Medium Enterprise Development, Trade, and Corporate Social Responsibility

Facilitated design of a program logic model, performance measurement framework and online reporting tools for a multi-country trades related technical assistance initiative of WTO in Africa (2009-10)

Mentored three separated regional program teams – for two trade related capacity building and one entrepreneur development initiatives – in the set up of their results based monitoring and reporting systems (2008-09)

Evaluated the performance of the World Bank/OECD Global Corporate Governance Forum (GCGF) in promoting global, regional and local initiatives aimed at improving the institutional framework and practices of corporate governance (2008)

Youth Leadership and Resiliency

Designed the M&E systems and then monitored implementation of two (grade 6-12) leadership and resiliency initiatives involving 1500 youth in two school districts in Northern Canada (2009- present)

Evaluated a youth oriented entrepreneurial development initiative centred on digital communications technologies in Ethiopia and Kenya (2008 and 2011)

Researched and developed an entry strategy for providing youth mentoring services and supports to Alberta communities (2010)

Governance, Elections and Democratic Development

Evaluated Canada's Multilateral Elections Observation Program (5 years), for DFATD (2013 - 2014)

Developed monitoring and evaluation frameworks and tools for UN election support campaigns in Afghanistan (2009) and Tanzania/Zanzibar (2010)

Evaluated judicial, legal and parliamentary reform projects in South Africa, Cambodia, China and Ethiopia (2006-07)
