history…
The Leadership Lab at The Banff Centre, in 2003/4, began inviting facilitators to come to open Monday night sessions. Colin Funk and Brian Woodward hosted these sessions where methods, processes, ideas were demonstrated, shared and created. The intent was to have an informal space where facilitators could come, share and experiment. Pacific Centre for Leadership, predominantly outdoor facilitators, were early and frequent contributors. When the Lab ceased its work in 2008, Banffcentre and Pacific Centre jointly sponsored and organized ‘Facilitation Exchange’ to carry on the sessions for interested facilitators in the Bow Valley. At this time there was also growing interest by facilitators in Calgary, so PlanNET offered to help co-host sessions in Calgary. Membership in Facilitation Exchange is informal, as are the sessions. The intent remains unchanged. Facilitators from all backgrounds, interests, sectors and experience levels come together to share, discuss, exchange ideas and experiment.
